Hi, I’m Betty — a mom who’s been exactly where you are right now.

I created Mama Glance because I spent way too many nights googling “toddler won’t sleep,” “why is my child scared of the vacuum,” or “how do I get them to eat something other than goldfish” while surviving on cold coffee and sheer willpower.

When my own toddler hit the terrible twos (which lasted until about four and a half), I felt completely overwhelmed. The sensory sensitivities, the big emotions, the power struggles at bedtime and mealtime — it all felt like too much. I read every parenting book and tried every “expert” method, but most of it either felt unrealistic for real life or completely ignored how a child’s nervous system actually works.

So I started doing things differently.

I began focusing on sensory playnervous system regulationpractical positive discipline scripts, and realistic routines that actually fit into messy, busy family life. The strategies that worked weren’t always the prettiest or most Pinterest-worthy, but they worked. My child became calmer, more cooperative, and happier — and so did I.

That’s why I started Mama Glance.

What “Mama Glance” Really Means

I don’t want to give you another overwhelming list of 47 things you “should” be doing. You don’t have time for that.

Instead, I want to give you quick, meaningful glances — practical insights, simple activities, and honest strategies that actually move the needle. The kind of advice you can read in five minutes while hiding in the bathroom, then actually use in real life.

You’ll find content here about:

  • Sensory play and supporting children with sensory processing challenges
  • Positive discipline scripts that actually work with strong-willed toddlers
  • Realistic sleep and routine strategies (no cry-it-out guilt trips)
  • Picky eating wins and balanced meals that don’t require a Michelin star
  • Budget-friendly DIY sensory tools (yes, the famous $20 no-sew sensory swing is real)
  • Simple ways to support your child’s development at home

My Promise to You

Everything I share is mother-tested and research-informed. I’m not a doctor or therapist — I’m a mom in the trenches with you. I only share what I’ve tried, what worked for us, and what other moms have found helpful.

Parenting is hard enough without the pressure to be perfect. My goal is to help you feel more confident and less alone.

Whether you’re navigating meltdowns, trying to build better routines, or just looking for ways to connect with your child through play, I’m glad you’re here.
